Coinbase Had The Best Super Bowl Commercial In 2022. Here’s Why

During the Super Bowl, there are always three games being played:

The actual game, in this case, The Bengals vs. The Rams, advertisers competing for the honor of having the best Super Bowl commercial, and the back-stabbing struggle as to who can eat the last chicken wing at my Super Bowl party. (Don’t judge me.)

Spoiler alert, I’ll reveal the winners:

  1. The Rams
  2. Coinbase
  3. Tiffany (sigh)

While I won’t detail Tiffany and her chicken stealing ways, I will dive deep into my passion: marketing. In this marketer’s opinion, Coinbase had the best Super Bowl commercial of 2022. Here’s why.

1.) The Coinbase Super Bowl Commercial Had Built-In Curiosity/ Engagement

In the world of advertising, and better yet, in the world of human nature, curiosity is an incredibly powerful motivator. Always has been, always will be. The Coinbase Super Bowl commercial broke the norm and used a QR code to invite the audience into the conversation.

This curiosity arousing move literally forced engagement and caused people to put down their pizza, pick up their phones and get clicking. Coinbase also used the golden rule…
