6 Practical Mental Shifts I Made To Take Back Control of My Day
Productivity porn is the internet’s most viewed orgasm.
Pun-fully-intended.
I love the idea of self-improvement. If I can read about how to be bigger, faster, stronger, and better, I’m in. Save me the pitch; just hand me the pen to sign up.
Unfortunately, after years of flooding my brain with hundreds of hacks, I ended up feeling hacked and felt out of control. I liken this feeling to a kid walking into a candy shop for the first time and suddenly be presented with thousands of options. There’s so much choice that the kid becomes frozen.
What I needed was fewer options so I could get out of my head and into the action.
After turning 30 and taking some time to reflect, I decided to distill all of the best “hacks” I’ve learned over the years and morph them into a manageable list I use to help me take back control of my day.
Enjoy.
I use my worry productively
“You don’t scare me! … I was born scared!” I’m a natural worrywart. I worry about this, I’m anxious about that, and my stomach can be knotted up worse than headphones that took a spin in the laundry.
